Thai Flag

The colors of the Thai flag stand for nation, religion, and king. Red represents the land and its people. White is for its religions, predominately Buddhism and Islam. Blue is the lucky color for Saturday, the day King Vajravudh was born, and represents the monarchy.

I was inspired to draw this flag image by a visit to the Dragon Descendants Museum in Suphanburi Thailand. When looking out the window from our hotel our attention was captured by the gigantic dragon towering over the city. One evening, my friend Bethany and I decided to view it up close and made the 30 minute walk. The museum, a tribute to the Thai-Chinese entwined history, was unfortunately closed when we arrived. However, but we were able to walk around the park and capture some great shots.

The image the provided inspiration for this postcard.
